Project Overview

Ad agency Connelly Partners contracted with Image 4 to co-design and implement a visual awareness program across the campus of Boston’s Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital. The campus program was an integral part of Connelly’s program to raise awareness and drive donations for the Grateful Nation fund raising project.

The campus is spread through a Boston neighborhood. Unifying campus locations and presenting a coherent message was a large part of the project. Image 4 began with a street map, and photographs of buildings and streets within the neighborhood. Working closely with Connelly, we created a messaging hierarchy and thematic map for the campus that involved street signage, exterior building signage, and interior messaging and collateral.

Light pole banners were printed and installed on streets through the area, and large-scale graphics mounted to walkways and exterior building facades. The BIDMC parking garages and lots were messaged with a mix of materials.

The story evolved as your moved deeper into the campus, with more personal messaging and graphics in the buildings, and “take-one” brochures available on custom designed literature kiosks. Connelly developed an on-line media campaign and donation platform where visitors, patients and staff could support the fund.

Marketing and PR manager Kelley Wallace said, “It was great working with all of you on the Grateful Nation project…We’ve heard an enormous amount of positive feedback. I look forward to working with you again soon.”
