PROJECT: Campus Brand and Wayfinding Program

Day School Welcomes and Guides Visitors with Brand-forward Wayfinding
Manchester, NH’s Derryfield School had just concluded an expansion and capital program. With added buildings and a re-oriented campus, they commissioned Image 4 to develop a Visual Brand presence and Campus Wayfinding program.
The Derryfield School had completed a campus-wide upgrade to buildings and facilities They were rightfully proud of the outcome, and in the competitive New England private school market, wanted to present their Authentic Brand™.
Image 4 began with a Brand Discovery project, looking to discover and distill what makes the institution unique. As the project developed, everyone agreed that “traditional values” was a cornerstone of the student experience. Our color palette reflected this, as we employed rich reds and gold through the project.
Our graphic design team went to work developing a visual library that presented the Brand. Grey-scale photos of sports, science academics, and now-famous graduates were printed to stretch canvas frames and hung through the facility. A light-pole and building banner program was developed to share programs, accomplishments and coming events.
Image 4’s Project Management team plotted routes through the campus and developed a wayfinding and signage program to aid visitors in finding buildings as well as knowing they had arrived. Lobby areas and transition areas were decorated with the grey-scale images as well.
The Derryfield School now presents its Authentic Brand™ as an excellent secondary-level day school.
