Display Graphics Considerations

Image 4 has over a decade of experience in improving communications and sales effectiveness on the tradeshow floor and retail floor, through the use of dazzling, concise graphics. Simply put, graphics are the elements used in the exhibit for the visual communication of information.

Graphics include words, drawings, charts, and pictures. These are applied as backlighted transparencies, murals and photoprints, dimensional letters and shapes, fabric and laminate treatments, banners, etc.

Tradeshow graphics need to work fast, like a billboard. In fact, studies show that and exhibitor has only about 3 seconds to stop and grab the attention of a prospect on the show floor. The only part of your exhibit that is more important than graphics, is the people working the exhibit.

Words

Words are used to identify and inform. Identity comes with telling your prospect Who you are and what you do.

Your company name is often not the most important identifier in the exhibit, it is often what you do that is more important to your prospect. Unless you have, in your market, the name recognition of Coca-Cola or Ford, your prospects are probably looking not for you, but for the solution to their immediate problem - in Image 4’s case it’s "Digital Imaging for a Digital World".

Where we see many exhibits fail is in the last part of this equation; inform. Part of what Image 4 will consult with you on is how you tell your story most effectively. Prospects will not read a dense text message, and most prospects really don’t care that you just bought a $200,000 Bridgeport milling machine. What they care about is how it helps them - saves them money, time, effort. Most prospects want to buy from you due to a direct near-personal benefit. We call this "Buyer-centered" copy.

The words used to tell your story should be few, descriptive, and carefully chosen. Type style needs to reflect the design of the display and the feel of your company.

Images

Over 65% of people in the world respond better to visuals than to words or sounds! In today’s visually-cluttered society, you still need to remember that fact!

What separates your message from the other messages available is good design. Good design includes appropriate selection of an image, appropriate treatment of that image through sizing, cropping, combining with other images and text, use of color, etc.

A common failure we see, and always try to manage with our clients, is the over-use of images. Communicating an idea or concept is usually easier, and more effective, through the use of a single image rather than many images cluttered around a tradeshow display. Image 4 will work with you to choose an image that will communicate your most important concept - the concept that drives more clients to your display, with a better understanding of YOUR benefit to them.

Unusual Treatments

Tasteful, unusual graphic treatments can produce eye-catching, memorable results! Image 4 can consult with you, and provide unique graphics treatments for your display - dimensional letters, unique lighting, printing onto textured materials, backlighted images, etc. And all of these will be integrated into your display to enhance the exhibit and the communication experience! After all is done, it’s all about the message to YOUR client.
